The game was created by Sports Interactive, the people behind the Premiership Manager series. It was released in October 2009 to positive reviews. It is published on PC, Mac OS X and Linux by Sega Europe (or, more specifically, SEGA's European distribution arm - Sega Europe Ltd) and marketed under licence to EA Sports. It is possible to be simulating a match at the same time as playing one; players can swap between matches using hotkeys or through an in-game menu. The game's AI will simulate matches while the player is offline too. If two human players are online they can also choose to play against each other in 'head-to-head' mode. The game is played in real life time, but the player has an in-game clock to measure the time remaining for each half. The player can also make substitutions during a match. It is possible to manually set the weather for each match or select one of four 'ideal' scenarios, including a 'Game Type' which changes the rules used when playing matches. There are no restrictions on team names, so in-game options are limited only by the player's imagination. The game features 3D Match Camera views allowing an overall view of all players on the pitch at any point in time, including overhead views and full 3D close up replays. The Match Day Experience, a 2D match screen, features a realistic 3D representation of the stadium with accurate pitch contours, graphics and stadium sounds to add to the experience. In addition to the standard 2D top down pitch view, there are also a number of other views including: The player has various options for modifying their team's tactics before playing a match. The player can edit most tactical aspects for all positions on the pitch including marking and tackling strategies. The game also offers instant tactical advice for every game situation. A number of preset tactics exist that can be edited by the user or used unaltered. Computer controlled teams may utilise different tactics than selected by the user. As well as this, the game offers a number of user defined tactics. The game will instantly select the best formation for any team on the fly based on team name, league and league position. It will also automatically make substitutions on the fly if certain players are substituted (similar to UEFA Champions League games). Additionally, you can manually change formations during a match if you like. The game will select the best player for any position you choose for all outside backs supported by inside midfielders and attacking midfielders. It will also indicate which players are best suited for their position. A highly detailed transfer module allows the user to specify what transfers should happen during the season. This section is split into two parts, the main transfer module and the shortlist manager. The main transfer module allows you to specify players to buy, sell, loan out or release. Shortlist manager allows you to manage a list of players who have been identified for potential transfers by your club's scouting staff. You can then view your shortlist for future reference or negotiate a deal with another club if they are interested in any of them by offering terms for each player on your shortlist including contract length, wages and other clauses. cfa1e77820
